DOGS IN QUARANTINEMost animals that arrive at the shelter are unvaccinated. It is necessary for these animals to spend a short time in quarantine to ensure both their health, and the health of the other animals at the shelter. These animals may be placed on hold whilst in quarantine, but cannot be released until they have finished their quarantine period. This is not negotiable under any circumstances. It is not unusual for us to not know a lot about the animal whilst it is in quarantine as the dog or cat is restricted to a small area of the shelter. Assessment will be done usually once quarantine restrictions are completed. Not all animals are placed on the website during their quarantine period. Before considering adoption please read the links page. If you click on the animal's image it will open to their profile. Dogs are $215 each ($235 if delivered to Adelaide), which includes desexing, microchipping and vaccinations. Exceptions are noted. We have changed the shelter's policy on placiing animals on hold. Any animal may now be placed on hold, providing a 50% deposit is paid. The animal will be held for one week, and if not collected, will once again be available for adoption (unless alternative arrangements are made). Please understand it is nearly impossible to give an accurate assessment in a shelter environment, and we encourage a 2 week trial period. ****** VOLUNTEER NOTES ARE A GUIDE ONLY ****** Recommend to a friend |
