Maggie-May, 6 years female DSH Black & White Maggie-May is a 6 year old female dsh, who was adopted as a kitten, but has now been returned to ARRG for reasons beyond her control, in the hope we can find another home for her. Unfortunately her elderly human mother passed away, and her human father was no longer able to care for her. In fact, this story emphasises the necessity for our older pet care-givers to consider whether adopting a young cat is really the most considerate thing to do for your pet. Consider that a cat can live 15-20 years, and the reality is that not every elderly human is going to be physically able to care for a still young cat. So while it may be a difficult subject to broach, ARRG will question whether an older person may be better suited with fostering an older cat, where all costs are still covered by ARRG. Or we will ask for a guarantee from a younger family member that they will take over the caring for their relative
