Sasha, 1 year female Mastiff x Ridgeback The last thing Sasha would have expected during the floods was being abandoned. The days that ensued for the lonely dog were hard. Not only did no one claim Sasha, but she clung to a pack of stray dogs who didn't let her eat. The lovely natured girl was pushed to the bottom of the pack and this made her nervous and shy. Animal Rights and Rescue Group received a call from Wollongbar Vet to see if we would take her in. A foster carer was arranged and we even found another rescue dog to keep Sasha company. Local dog behavioural expert, Martin McKenna, has been working with Sasha to boost her confidence. The improvements are already noticeable. The impact the flooding has had on the area still shocks us every day. If you know of any animals who have been abandoned due to the region's recent natural disaster then please contact us to see if we can help. If you are interested in adopting Sasha, please contact the centre via phone: 02 6622 1881 between 9am - 3pm Monday to Friday or email: nonkill@animalrights.org.au
